Round Steak

Easy! Start with round steak, we use Touchstone black angus. Tenderize with a meat hammer. Season with salt and pepper, onion powder, paprika. Dust with flour. Brown. Put into slow cooker. Drain oil from pan, deglaze with madiera. or red wine, or beef stock. Sprinkled dry onion over beef. Pour liquid over the meat. Towards the end of cooking, I added some cornstarch and water to thicken the gravy.
I didn't get a picture of it as it came out of the slow cooker, but I did snap a pic of the little bit of leftovers this morning... Had it late last night when I finished with classes, around 9! I put the meat in the bottom of a bowl, put some mashed taters on top, then green beans, and topped it with gravy. Shepherd's pie in a bowl.
Halloween candy for dessert.
What could be better?

Drink Mixes: Mocha, Russian Tea

One can go online and find lots of recipes, that's what I did. I followed a basic recipe, then added my own twist.
Mocha
2 cups instant coffee
1/4 cup cocoa (I used a dark baking cocoa)
2 cups sugar
4 cups powdered milk
1 cup hazelnut creamer, powdered (one of the small containers, store brand, whatever flavor you like)
1/2 regular creamer, powdered (or more of the flavored stuff, to taste, really)
One could put in the blender of food processor to get the granules smaller and of uniform size. (I didn't do that)

Russian Tea
Pretty much an equal mix of Tang and Country Time Lemonade. With some instant tea. Season with cinnamon and cloves. Other spices, if you like: allspice, nutmeg. If you like more lemony, use more lemonade, if you like it more on the orange side, well, add more Tang. Simple.

Chocolate Hazelnut Raspberry Torte

Yep, just that easy. I wrapped it in plastic wrap, and put it back in the foil loaf pan (washed it, first). They are in the fridge, will unwrap, dust with more powdered sugar, slice for serving.
One could use a variety of flavors, add nuts or other garnishes.
